Surveying the Land
Lets keep it simple. Washington was a surveyor of the land as a farmer and a gardener. He uses gardening to show the soon to be Americans that everything Washington does is moving away from Great Britain. Moving the garden towards American, home grown trees and plants. He planned and organized out his garden away from Great Britain influence to show how the people have moved away from their influence. This idea is at the forefront when he writes during the time of war about thinking about his garden and the passion he has for his gardening. It is interesting that during such a time of war and stress should the commander and chief be thinking about gardening or the war? This would not be good in today’s times that would not be expectable and would be under examination and questioned as a leader.

Washington was a giant during his days as presidents. He literally was strong, tall, and handsome. An example of what America wanted Britain to see as their leader. He was listed at six feet two inches. He was a farmer and very strong and devoted to the colonies being freed. His living quarters where moved westward showing the dedication to move away from Europe and rule of others. Being FREE!
